1. Begin by assessing training needs early on
It is better to recognize a need for training, before the employee (or the company) are adversely affected by the lack of necessary skills. The first step should consist of checking the employee's current skill level, if any, as well as what their anticipated new skill level will be after the training. This way, once the training is complete, the expected results can be checked to see if they in fact match or exceed the anticipated results.
